Happy New Year.Thank you very much for your continued support of White Bear Linens this year.
It is already January 13th, and this is the day White Bear Linens officially begins its journey for 2026.
The year started off a little eventfully, with illness, an earthquake, and even a smartphone breakdown followed by a replacement.
At last, life has settled back into its familiar rhythm, and today feels like the right moment to gently stand up again and say, “Let’s take this year at an easy, unhurried pace.”
Here is a piece by Samouiloff that I was stitching over the year-end holidays. If you look closely, you may notice a tiny hole near the upper right edge of the design. This hole was already there when the linen arrived from Zweigart.
I couldn’t bring myself to discard the fabric, and I realized that for a smaller piece like this one, the design could just fit if I carefully avoided the damaged area—so I decided to stitch it.
For many years, I had wanted to stitch one of Samouiloff’s winter designs. Being able to finally do so, and seeing it completed so sweetly, left me with a deeply fulfilled heart.
After photographing it at last, I found myself thinking once again, “Alright—let’s begin White Bear Linens.”
The linen color used here is “Teak.”It is a shade that carries the warmth of wood, along with a hint of crisp, dry winter air.
White thread does not sink into the fabric, yet it never appears too bright. Reds and blues stand out beautifully as well, making it a color that gently but firmly embraces winter motifs. This realization brought me great joy.
In 2026, I hope to continue moving forward step by step, carefully facing each piece of linen and each color as I go.
Thank you once again for your continued support of White Bear Linens this year.
